Art Exhibit – Nature Indoors, October 2014

“Nature Indoors” exhibits botanic-themed artwork from local Baltimore artists, featuring painting, printing, and sculpture.
October 1 – 12 (Wednesday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 2nd, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

You are invited to experience Nature Indoors, an immersive experience where the gallery is part of the show.

The Rawlings Conservatory is partnering with curator Gloria Azucena of the Maryland Institute College of Art Curatorial Practice MFA program to present an art exhibition that celebrates nature and makes the exhibition space part of the show. This partnership allows for the use of a unique gallery space – an indoor garden – and for the space to be presented as a work of art itself, while reflecting the theme of the show, bringing nature indoors. Visitors will be able to experience an art gallery setting within the walls of an enclosed botanic garden. This exhibition aims to connect people and celebrate the natural world while engaging the visual and tactile senses.

The participating artists for the exhibition include:

Amanda Adams
Brian Dowdall
Norma Galinn
Stephanie Garmey
Renee Henderson
Christine Neil
Greg Otto
Stephanie Smith
Alison Spiesman

The exhibition and reception are both free and open to the public. All artwork is for sale and proceeds from sales will be donated to the Conservatory.
