Seasonal Maintenance Aide - Rawlings Conservatory

Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks Horticulture Division is hiring a Seasonal Maintenance Aide based out of the Rawlings Conservatory. Driver’s license required.

Description:

  • Schedule: 3 days/week (1 weekend day required)
  • Hours: 22 hours/week, $16.00/hour
  • Shifts vary seasonally: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM or 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Occasional evenings & extra hours available

Duties include:

  • Greenhouse plant care (watering, pruning, sweeping)
  • Grounds maintenance (weeding, planting, mulching, mowing)
  • Visitor support (occasionally work front desk, phones, gift shop, event rentals)

Park Maintenance Supervisor - Cylburn Arboretum

Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks Horticulture Division is hiring a Park Maintenance Supervisor based out of Cylburn Arboretum. This position is responsible for caring for the grounds and gardens at Cylburn Arboretum, as well as supporting the Rawlings Conservatory, the community gardening program, and the rentals program. This is a full-time benefitted position. Driver’s license required.

Description:

  • The Park Maintenance Supervisor will primarily work with and train laboring staff including seasonal/temporary staff to care for a robust garden landscape.
  • Commercial or professional landscape experience preferred. 
  • Relevant horticulture, park, public garden, or grounds maintenance experience will be considered.
  • Valid Maryland driver’s license is required, comfortable with driving pick-up trucks or small dump trucks preferred. 
  • Experience with zero-turn mowers, power equipment, and small snowplows preferred.
  • Tasks include mowing, string trimming, edging, weeding, planting, pruning, mulching, and other horticultural tasks at Cylburn Arboretum.
  • Snow removal and facility maintenance will be required depending on the season.
